	BHS WIND ENSEMBLE The 2012 Barstow High School WInd Ensemble will be commissioning a new piece of music written by Mr. Gerald Willis. It will be a three movement work for band and hopefully be published by a major publishing company. Part of the Reno Spring Tour will be the premier of this new work in Reno, NV.

Room Assignments Make sure that you turn in your room assignment request to Garvin by Feb. 3rd	The new piece that the BHS Wind Ensemble will be commissioning is: "The Waterman Junction Suite" It is a 3 movement work - I. - 3751 to Oro Grande II. - Dinner at Casa del Desierto III - The Super Chief It is a descriptive piece that highlights the rich railroad history of Barstow. Our City was called "Waterman Junction" before 1886. The name "Barstow" comes from the 10th President of the Santa Fe Railroad - William Barstow Strong Barstow was his mother's maiden name - also his name was also used for a town in Kansas, Strong City, Kansas.
